Traffic Signs

Road signs are the way in which the exercise of the power of authority in public space is shown on a daily basis. When warning or prohibiting certain actions or behaviors, these signs are so constant and common that we hardly notice them anymore. From this premise, intervened traffic signs with different phrases were placed around the Palo Alto area of California in the Silicon Valley. An area that has acquired the meaning of being the last frontier of capitalist freedom and innovation. The phrases placed on these signs are self-referential or absurd seeking to ridicule and make visible the exercise of power exercised from these objects in an area of supposed personal freedom.
